2016 Lincoln Town Car Concept – The Lincoln Town Car was a full size luxury sedan which shared most of its components with the Crown Victoria. However, the car has been discontinued more than four years ago mostly because it just didn’t make sense on the current market. There are plans to bring the car back, but when or how we just don’t know for sure. The next generation, the new Lincoln Town Car 2016, might be a complete new car which won’t have anything in common with its predecessor, but it might share some of its styling with it.
2016 Lincoln Town Car redesign
On the interior there is going to be quite a bit of new equipment. The new Lincoln Town Car 2016 will likely use all of the Lincoln’s new technologies and equipment, but the design is going to be new. There will be five very comfortable leather wrapped seats, satellite navigation, a front and rear infotainment system and all the usual commodities of a luxury vehicle. Even though it will share its platform with the new Taurus, the Town Car is likely going to use a different suspension system, so it will be a lot more comfortable than the Ford counterpart.
The exterior of the 2016 Lincoln Town Car on the other hand is going to catch the spirit of the original but it will also borrow a few design elements from the Lincoln cars in order to remain in line with the rest of their model range.
Lincoln Town Car 2016 specs
In terms of engines, the new Lincoln Town Car 2016 won’t have much in common with the older generation. We expect it to come on the market with a single engine option, just like the previous model did. A 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 is out safest best mostly because it offers the required fuel efficiency and power level. This engine is capable of making as much as 350 horsepower and more than 370 lb-ft of torque allowing the Town Car to accelerate very smoothly. This powerplant should be mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and Ford’s new all wheel drive system, so the car won’t have any problems in any climate. The performance will be good with an expected 0 to 60 MPH time of around 6 seconds but the top speed is likely going to be limited to 130 MPH.
2016 Lincoln Town Car price
As far as we know, this new Lincoln Town Car 2016 is likely going to share its platform with the next generation Taurus, so it might get all wheel drive as standard and a lot of new technology built into it. A standard aluminum body and a chassis built for comfort will also come on the base Town Car which is a nice thing to hear considering the previous model didn’t really excel in anything. The 2016 Lincoln Town Car price is unknown at this point but considering the previous generation, $44,000 might be a safe starting point for base model.
