Although the new 2016 Ford Everest has a boxy design according to official information it has the best-in class drag coefficient of 0,389. The reason for that low number is an underbody shield that aids air to pass underneath the vehicle. On the front fascia is recognizable inverted trapezoidal grille with integrated LED headlights with LED daytime running lights. Foglights are integrated into the front bumper that gives the new Ford Everest 2016 a proud and modern look. Rear end of this 7-passenger SUV is mostly squared shape beside angular LED taillights that give it more modern look.

Interior of the new 2016 Ford Everest continues with horizontal lines from exterior theme. That influences on the dashboard and instrument panel. The main benefits of the Everest’s interior are comfort, space and convenience for all passengers. The Ford 7-passenger SUV comes with eight-way adjustable powered and heated front seats, multi-function four-spoke steering wheel, 8.0-inch touchscreen, Ford’s SYNC 2 infotainment system that includes voice command system, satellite navigation, climate control functions, Bluetooth phone connectivity and Wi-Fi hotspot technology. When we speak about safety the new Ford Everest 2016 will come with Driver-Assist features that includes adaptive cruise control, active park assist, lane keeping aid and curve control. These functions are joined by a blind spot information system, auto braking, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, roll stability control, auto high beam, trailer sway control, rear and front cameras and sensors for parking assistance, seven airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The new 2016 Ford Everest 7-passenger SUV has three engines to choose from: one petrol and two diesel engines. The base engine is 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to 6-speed automatic transmission. Smaller diesel engine is 2.2-liter Duratorq 4-cylinder TDCi engine that offers the best fuel economy without drastic reducing of performance. For maximum power and torque there is 3.2-liter Duratorq 5-cylinder TDCi engine. With diesel engines comes an option of two gearboxes: 6-speed manual and 6R80 6-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift manual mode.

Towing capacity

Although the exact numbers are still unknown for this stage we can presume their power and torque. That bring us to the next numbers: 250 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque (183kw/366Nm) for gas engine, 150 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque (110kW/375Nm) for 2.2-liter TDCi 4-cylinder and 200 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque (147kW/470Nm) for 3.2-liter 5-cylinder diesel engines. With large diesel engine the new Ford Everest 2016 towing capacity is 6,600 pounds (3000 kg) which is best in class.

The new 2016 Ford Everest release date is set for sometime in 2015. This 7-passenger SUV will have the price above the Territory and the Ranger. That means the we can accept that the Ford Everest 2016 in Australia will have price from around $45,000.
