One more award came to the Ford address: the North American Truck of the Year is 2015 Ford F-150. The main competitors for this prestige tribute were Chevy Colorado and Lincoln MKC which were presented at the start of the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. More than 50 veteran journalists voted and main factors that their decision was based on are innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value.
On that occasion, Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of The Americas, said: “Ford is honored to be named the best among such a strong field of competitors. Ford employees and customers have a lot to be proud of with the innovative and award-winning F-150.”
2015 Ford F-150 specs
The 2015 Ford F-150 comes with aluminum-alloy body and high-strength steel frame. This helped that Ford truck reduced its weight for 700 pounds and it became lighter and more efficient truck than its predecessor. With 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine the new F-150 4×2 has EPA fuel economy rated at 22 mpg combined (19/26 city/hwy). Comparing to the 2014 model the 2015 Ford F-150 can tow 1,100 haul up to 530 more pounds.
This Ford pickup truck comes with numerous features that had its debut in new Ford F-150 2015. One of them is 360-degree camera view that use exterior cameras that allow creating a bird’s eye view of the truck that ease park, maneuver in tight spots and navigate narrow roads and trails. This truck also features integrated loading ramps, BoxLink, Trailer hitch assist and remote tailgate that allows for tailgate to be locked, unlocked and released with the key fob.
